30 Day Kindred Stamp Challenge, Days 8 and 9

Hi all,
Posting my next two days of crafty chatter.

Day 8

Theme: Purple
Stamped images from Kindred Stamps; I'm Wishing, Ocean Royalty and Once Upon a Nap

Purple is often associated with our animated villains and for this card I used my favourite trio. I blended Wilted Violet Distress Oxide using a cloud stencil on card and then spritzer with Cosmic Shimmer. I mounted this on to black card which I also blended lightly with Wilted Violet to continue the cloudy look. Added sequins and a stamped sentiment, "Perfectly Wicked".

Day 9
Crafting Area
*used a Kindred Gets Naughty Stamp, please consider this an invitation to stop scrolling if you would rather not see an adult rated theme*

I had this idea from when I first wrote up the themes and had so much fun making it.
It's all built around the sentiment "My Safe Word is Crafting"
On the front we have a red glittery card panel with wooden flooring. A dark wood desk features assorted craft supplies and the portrait shows her favourite painting. All images were stamped, coloured and cut.
Inside there is a stamped and cut lady in black with the sentiment.

Hope you enjoyed my blog for day 8 and 9 x

30 Day Kindred Stamp Challenge, Days 1-7

On 1st April, a challenge was announced, the chosen subject was my absolute favourite brand of clear stamps, Kindred Stamps! I sat down with my notebook and pen and wrote down each of the themes and then planned for each. Some were easy, some involved a bit more interpretation and thinking outside the box...

My style is very much popular culture based and I love to think of particular scenes where characters can be used. You will hopefully see that in my cards I have made so far and for the rest made throughout the challenge.

This first blog entry is a whistle-stop tour through my first 7 cards, then as the challenge moves along I will add a post every couple of days with a little more detail on techniques etc.

Day 1: Sparkly
Stamped image from the KS digital stamp set, 'I'm Wishing'.
Process: I masked a section of the card and used Shaded Lilac Distress Oxide and Cosmic Shimmer mist for the background. I stamped out and heat embossed the sentiment in WOW clear sparkle embossing powder "Leave a little sparkle wherever you go", Attached this to mirri card and then onto the card base. I 'randomly' (not as easy as you think) scattered sequins and finally added a pre-coloured image of my favourite little guy. And I HAD to add sequins for his eyes!

Day 2: Celebrate

IT LIGHTS UP!!!!! Crafting met physics for this one. I created a galaxy background using Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot Distress Oxides and some of my favourite Cosmic Shimmer Mist (you will see this mentioned a lot). I used a Chibitronics light kit, to create a circuit and add battery and one blue light. All mounted on to a black shimmery piece of card with a sentiment written and cut on Cricut Joy.

Day 3: Multiple People

I wanted to play with the title for this day and I started humming a certain tune in my head. Out came the pre-coloured images of the charged up couple. I used a fairground embossing folder for the background and I wrote and cut the sentiment on Cricut Joy.

Day 4: Spring
Stamped image from Toy Box (Limited Edition) Kindred stamps

I had a couple of bouncy characters in mind for this card, but I really wanted to think outside the box for it, so I thought outside the Toy Box and created a springy dog. Jewellery wire wrapped around the barrel of a pen and shaped to add for body between the head and legs of the character. Cloudy and floorboard patterned paper used and a white strip of paper in between to separate. My bedroom decor attempt! Sentiment written and cut on the Cricut Joy.

Day 5: Background

So this one is all about the background and not the under dressed guy in the centre... !
I had wanted to make a rain shaker card and this day seemed perfect to try it out. I used a stitched square die for the main panel, and very carefully sewed invisible string through the top and bottom sections, adding 5 seed beads for each string. I stamped and cut dollars to attach to the string so the beads wouldn't all fall to the bottom. I wrote and cut the sentiment on the Cricut Joy, had to be an umbrella, had to make reference to dancing in the rain. I attached the panel to a grey piece of card embossed with clouds.

Day 6: Only 3 Colours

When I think of three colours, my go to is red, white and blue. Being from the UK, I could have used our own tri-colour flag as inspiration but I really wanted to use a someone super.
I die-cut 3 different sized stars and adhered them to a flag patterned piece of paper. I attached the pre-coloured image and wrote and cut the sentiment on my Cricut Joy.

Day 7: Signature
Admittedly, when I saw the theme for this day, I was stumped, how can I show my signature on a card? I don't sign my cards. I didn't want to ask anyone on the Kindred Stamps Fan Club on Facebook, so I continued to have a little think about it. Then.....ding! signature dish! The little grey furry one is known for this signature dish!
Now, how to create a food in paper craft... I cut circles of different colours to represent the vegetables on my Cricut Joy and laid them around a larger circle. This took some concentration and a couple of attempts before I stuck anything down. I then cut a scalloped circle for the "sauce" and the sentiment, and attached the pre-coloured images and stamped 'Bon Apetite' from the stamp set.

So there you have it, seven days of card making. With cards that sparkle, light up, rain and make you hungry. They certainly show a wide range of themes when all displayed together.

Hope you enjoy my first attempt at blogging and look forward to many more from me.
